My WD Elements 2TB External hard drive is not working. My MacBook Pro won't recognize the device. The tiny bulb is constantly blinking when plugged in. Showing there is power, just not reading. I've tested and swapped the USB cable and Power output, checked on a different computer and looked at Disk Utility, ALL with no luck. I've had this external hard drive.

I've had this external hard drive for less then a year and am still under warranty. I'm looking to avoid a Data Recovery . It's expensive and not a flawless process.
Anyone have a solution?

I'm confused about this too... my backups take FOREVER, I'm going away tomorrow for 2 weeks so I'm Syncing my iPhone and it's Backing up, but it's been Backing Up for over an hour now and isn't even a quarter of the way through.
This bug has been here since iTunes 7.7 and iPhone 2.0... never had a problem backing up with iTunes 7.6 and iPhone 1.1.4, it always did it within 5 minutes max.
Any word from Apple on this? Anyone? Or do I have to put 2-3 hours aside each day for backing up my iPhone? If that's the case, I might take it back. 2-3 hours is awful.
